Dogs playing on beach

After spending 22 years training dogs and their people in California and Delaware, I have decided to move on to my next endeavor.

I’ll be spending more time with my husband Bill, and I’ll be playing with, training, traveling, and showing our own dogs: Makani, our 12-year-old Bichon Frise; Samba, our 5-year-old Löwchen; and Kalima, our new Bichon Frise showgirl puppy!

But first I want to thank a few people…..

Jean Donaldson, you have my eternal gratitude for preparing me for the most incredible career of my life. You changed the way I understood dogs and that had a profound effect on my life in countless ways. My life was divided between “before the Academy” and “after the Academy.”

Thank you to my husband, Bill, for standing behind me and believing in me when I dropped everything to go to the Academy and then came out and started training dogs and their people and never looked back. You helped me to achieve this dream beyond my wildest imagination and supported me thru every twist and turn!

Thank you, Tracey Lee Davis, for the fabulous way we worked together as a team to build success. We influenced each other, supported each other, and learned from each other thru many changes. I will be forever grateful our paths crossed and continue to.

Thank you, Diane Troup, for believing in me when I went out on my own. You were right there by my side every step of the way and I loved the way we worked together. I’m not sure I could have done it without you and I certainly wouldn’t have wanted to!

Also thanks to the many trainers who helped me build such a fabulous training program for A Dog’s’s Life. Because of Tracey Lee and Diane, Donna Medeiros, Janelle Haggett, Peggy McCarty, Ruthanna Levy, Josette Kimes, Rachel Evers, and the support of many others,  we were able to offer puppy classes, adult classes, advanced classes, nose work, freestyle, agility, tricks, CGC, Rally, pet first aid, and many workshops and seminars. Not to mention the fantastic puppy socials on Sunday mornings.

Finally, thank you to every single client, both in classes and private, who let me into your lives to help you better understand a kinder and more positive way of training your precious puppies and dogs. Without you, this career that I loved simply would not have been possible.

Along the way, I have been fortunate that many of my clients and trainers have become, and remained, lifelong friends. I cherish that and will look forward to many more great times in the future!
