Nancy Weller, Dog Trainer

Nancy Weller, CPDT-KA, CTC
Pawsitively Fabulous owner Nancy Weller is an honors graduate of the prestigious San Francisco SPCA’s Academy for Dog Trainers, widely considered the Harvard for companion dog professionals. She is a Certified Pet Dog Trainer-Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA), a professional member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT), and is an active board member of the South Bay Trainers (SBT). She is a member of the Bichon Frise Club of Northern California and the Santa Clara Valley Kennel Club. She is CParf! certified in pet first aid and CPR.

Nancy offers private puppy and adult training packages, as well as group training, for Multi-dog households, Rally Obedience, Tricks and Clicker Training for Conformation.

Nancy has spent more than a decade training dogs, including six years as one of the top trainers for Ian Dunbar’s Sirius® Dog Training. Since 2007, she has been the Director of Puppy Programs & Training at the award-winning daycare-and-training facility A DOG’S LIFE. There she created and implemented a comprehensive program to take puppies from infancy to well-adjusted adulthood. Clients end up with dogs that are wonderful pet companions, ready for anything from pet-assisted therapy or flyball to a Canine Good Citizen certification.

Nancy has fostered many puppies for the Humane Society Silicon Valley, and, along with her husband and dogs, has provided pet-assisted therapy services to nursing homes and a children’s shelter. She lives with her husband, Bill, and her AKC Champion and CGC-certified Bichon Frise, Iniki and Iniki’s puppy, Makani, currently having fun on the show circuit with Nancy.

In her free time, Nancy likes to take classes with her own dogs.

Presentations and Workshops
Nancy is available to speak on a variety of topics for your staff, club, group or organization. Examples include educating your vet staff or groomers on positive handling approaches; Workshops such as “Reliable Recalls,” “Leave It/Take It/Drop It,” “Introduction to Clicker Training for Show Dogs;” and Presentations such as “Secrets of Trainers,” “Mischievous Puppies,” “Socializing Your New Litter—Days 1 thru 60,” and “Multi-dog Households.”
